Consultation for those who cannot attend the program

We provide consultations for children of all ages and abilities. The initial consultation will last between two to three hours, during which we conduct a comprehensive case history, observational assessment, and screening to evaluate the child's strengths and weaknesses. We prefer to have both parents attend the first consultation.

A parent will leave the session with

  • An understanding of 'why my child is acting the way he/she is acting.'

  • A list of professional services needed.

  • A list of lifestyle changes to adapt to the needs of your child

  • How to manage challenging behaviors.

  • A list of books to read based on the type of Autism.

  • Resources for parents.

A second consultation will be scheduled after the parents have had time to implement some of the recommended changes and read the suggested books.

Parents who wish to mainstream their autistic child but cannot enroll in the program are encouraged to come for periodic evaluations every three months. During these evaluations, we will assess progress on current communication and academic goals, improvements in daily living skills, readiness for mainstreaming, establish new goals, determine if any additional professional services are needed, evaluate progress on extracurricular activities, and identify and address any new behavior challenges.
